The project

Walk the Horizon is an ongoing participatory artwork. A participant chooses a point, records the bearing and walks towards it until local sunset.

The project records the beginning and the sunset that follows. It does not follow the route or certify what happened between them.

How to take part

Use a phone to establish a starting place and photograph the chosen bearing. Location is optional: a town or city can be entered instead. At sunset, an email offers three optional questions.

Contributions

Eligible photographs enter a chronological collective field after midnight at their starting place and positive manual review. Individual answers are independently arranged into groups of one, two or three. Answers beside an image may come from different walks.
